The whole world crumbled,
Daylight became darkness.
The people were afraid.
Jesus, his earthly form
Now ascended to heavenly
greatness.
Witnesses returned to their homes.
What had they just seen?
A man, holy, crucified before their eyes.
Now Jesus, his family and disciples
Were torn apart.
A woman, Mary
Had looked inside the tomb.
Here, the angels emerged to complete a vision.
People too, had seen a mockery of justice,
An agonizing crucifixion.
We pray that two thousand years later,
He will forgive,
Return to us in an earthly form,
And restore world peace for ever.
Bring me back to Jerusalem
At Calvary time.
