Services
at St George's 2010 |
|
|
Our
Minister, Revd Jane Wade and our Assistant Pastor Angela Such take most of the
services at St George’s,
although we also have guest speakers from the various charities and
organisations we support. Our Elders and other members also take Services
when our minister is away preaching at other churches, Mission Council,
etc.
At St George’s we have a mixture of styles of music from the traditional
hymns, to modern choruses and songs specially written with children in
mind. We have some very talent young musicians within our fellowship and
it is always great to see them involved. All our regular pianists,
musicians and singers help in leading our worship and making it such a joy
to sing our praises to God.

The services can take various different forms: -
Special Invitation Services. These morning services offer the
opportunity to invite other family members, neighbours, work colleagues
along to the church. They are specifically aimed at people who don't
normally attend a church.
Songs of Praise & Praise Services.
From time to time over the year we have a chance for people to chose
their favourite hymn or song and share their testimonies.
Seasonal Events. Advent, Christmas and Easter services, Pentecost, Age Concern service, Harvest Lunch/Supper
service.
Pilot Celebration Services. These were held about 4
times a year and were all-age services, involving the children and young
people within the service and to which their families are invited.
Remembrance Sunday: Prayers for peace and
reconciliation.
Healing Services. Where there is the opportunity for
people to ask for prayer and anointing with oil.
