Church Anniversary Weekend -
Friday 6th to Sunday 8th February 2009
To celebrate the
church anniversary in 2009 we thought about arranging a Church Weekend
Away. However, with the new hall promising to be ready and all the
facilities and space on hand it seemed a good idea to use them, so we are
planning a Church Weekend At Home! We
are giving advance notice of these plans in the hope that as many people as
possible will put the dates in their diaries and keep them free. As we are
staying at home we hope everyone will feel able to take part in this event.
As well as having our own facilities, we are privileged to have within our
midst a talented theologian and speaker who has agreed to lead the teaching
during the weekend - Dr Justin Thacker will take us on a walk through the
Bible helping us to grasp the timescales of God's story, the Faithfulness of
God throughout time, the good news of Jesus and how that all fits together
and is relevant for our lives today. What happened during the Exodus? What sort of King was Jehoshaphat? Where does Esther fit
in? What was the Exile all about? How does Jesus fit in with the Old
Testament? What about the end times? And much, much more ... The weekend will
begin on the evening of Friday 6th February 2009 and will include
teaching, worship, discussion, question & answer sessions, creative and
interactive opportunities, children's and youth work and lots of fellowship.
We will also eat together and enjoy a social event during the weekend and
the Sunday services will form part of the event. Further details will be
available nearer the time but for now please do keep these dates free, there
will be something for everyone to enjoy and take part in.
